Depends on what look your going for. If you want a country look real wood looks better. If you want more of a pulled together classic look then you could use faux wood.

Probably maintenance, and longevity of the recycled materials. Lasts longer, looks nicer longer, requires less maintenance.
    That’s my guess.

  3. Wood will ALWAYS require mainenance. Vinyl will fade over tme. Shutters are desinged to be an accent.
The question is, do you want to maintain them. They can be used as a very good accent, but beware. they will need maintaining. good luck..

Faux wood does not warp with heat and sunlight like wood does. Some brands look just like wood, others like a very cheap imitation. Shop around!

As you know, the cost is very different. Now if that isn’t a consideration, here are other differences:
    Real wood warps
    Real wood changes color
Real wood splits and cracks when it’s too dry
Real wood is harder to maintain
    As for fake:
    It doesn’t warp
    It doesn’t change color
    It won’t split or crack
    It’s easy to maintain
You may want to look around because there are some REALLY NICE faux woods now. Some do of course, look really fake. In my experience, the tan colored ones look fake, no matter what brand you buy.
As for look, I have white faux wood and you can’t tell the difference, even when you touch them! And they are soooooooo much easier to clean!
